Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic decorated Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo with the Order of the Republic Of Serbia on Monday, saying that the two countries should expand their cooperation.

“We understand each other politically but we need to meet and speak more often,” Vucic said, adding that cooperation will include sectors such as the IT industry and military-technical cooperation as well as agriculture and education. He said that Serbia should inform Ghana about events in the region before it becomes a member of the UN Security Council.

Akufo-Addo said that his country intends to open the door to further cooperation, adding that he is in Belgrade to confirm Ghana’s commitment to the Non-Aligned movement.

The 60th anniversary summit of the first Non-Aligned summit is being held in Belgrade. Ghana is one of the founding members of the movement.
