Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Wednesday’s news conference that he wants to know what other heads of state and government think about Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s statements about a union of Kosovo and Albania.
He said that he would be sending a letter to “all heads of state and government” as well as European institutions asking how Kurti can “clearly and every so often” talk about his desire for a union of Kosovo and Albania.
Vucic said that there has been no reaction from any European political institution to Kurti’s recent statement about a union with Albania and asked what the reaction would be if a similar “irresponsible” statement came from Belgrade.
“I will ask them to tell me how it is possible that Albin Kurti as prime minister of the temporary institutions in Pristina can very clearly and precisely speak about his own desire for a union of Kosovo and Albania. The letter will also ask if that means that they will react in the same way if anyone here speaks of a union with someone else,” Vucic said.
He said the practice of allowing the Kosovo Albanians everything has to stop.
