Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Caroline Ziadeh called on Belgrade and Pristina to constructively engage in and support the integrity of the dialogue process facilitated by the European Union (EU).
It is of vital importance to promote a climate conducive to a true dialogue. The sides need to work on resolving open issues in good faith, said Ziadeh ahead of tomorrow’s meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Brussels.
Zidaeh added that the two sides should take advantage of the efforts made in the past eleven years in order to build on the hard-won gains achieved in the EU-mediated dialogue.
A dialogue and a compromise are the only sustainable path to stability, prosperity and security for all, said Zidaeh.
Vucic and Kurti will meet Thursday in Brussels at the invitation of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
