Slovenia reports 85 new coronavirus cases, no deaths

Slovenia on Wednesday confirmed 85 new coronavirus cases and no deaths in the last 24 hours, with a test positivity rate of 5.4 percent.

This is down from 106 new infections and a test positivity rate of 6.4 percent reported on Tuesday.

Currently, 28 COVID patients are being treated in hospitals and seven of them are in intensive care, the Slovenian Health Ministry said on Wednesday. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, the country’s death toll has reached 4,428.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population is 41.4 and the daily average of infections detected in the past week is 66.4. The number of active cases is 873.

It is estimated that a third of the infections are the result of local transmission, while nearly a third have been imported from abroad, including about 40% from Croatia, while the rest are of an unknown origin, according to Slovenian media.
