Serbia’s PTT presented ‘Francophonie’ postal stamps

The Post of Serbia (PTT) on Wednesday promoted the appositely postal stamps Francophonie', as part of an international organisation founded in 1961 in Montreal, with the goals of academic cooperation within the French language area.

„It is a special honour for us on the national holiday of France to present a brand that celebrates the common values on which we want to build both the present and the future – equality, complementarity and
solidarity, on which this friendly organisation rests and operates, „Serbia, Zoran Djordjevic, the PTT acting director, told the promotion in the Post Museum.

Djordjevic congratulated the French ambassador to Serbia, Jean-Louis Falconi, on the national holiday and handed over new postage stamps.

„Francophonie is not limited to France; it represents a large family of 300 million people on all continents, which continues to grow. French is the fifth language globally, and 95,000 students in Serbia are learning French today,“ Falconi said.

The apposite philatelic edition contains a postage stamp with a nominal value of 0.72 euros (85 Dinars). It’s printed in sheets of ten stamps and includes an envelope.
