Serbia’s President: EP lost in space, we have medical equipment

In his first reaction to the European Parliament (EP) report on Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters on Friday it spoke "more about them and I don't need to add a word," and then read parts of the document aloud at the construction site of a new bridge over the Sava River near the western town of Sabac.

He said the EP was „lost in space“ since „Serbia doesn’t lack equipment, medicines, vaccines because it hasn’t relied on the European Union.“

Vucic said he reacted to the EP report only to show Serbia’s people how some treat their country in the area like health, where there was no politics.

He did not refer to other parts of the report which dealt with organised crime, corruption and media freedom, except the Telekom-Telenor deal, saying: „They criticise Telekom which made a contract with an EU company. So, what they want? To protect tycoons’ crime in Serbia?“

He continued reading the parts of the report, pointing „the concern about disinformation campaign to delegitimise Kosovo’s statehood.“

„I’ve proudly delegitimised Kosovo’s independence. I will continue doing that out of spite and to the glory of Serbia. They can’t do me anything,“ Vucic said.
