Serbia’s opposition to organise joint meeting

Serbia's opposition New Party and Social-Democrats invited all other opposition parties and movements to a joint meeting next Tuesday to discuss proposals for an inter-party dialogue under the European Union's auspices ahead of 2022 elections.

The two parties believe the opposition must act in the dialogue with a single platform and thus show seriousness and responsibility before its voters and sympathisers and agree and create joint demands.

„We are convinced that the opposition has the strength and ability to organise itself and defeat the current regime finally. Accordingly, we believe that there is no need to hide behind any other organisations. We must responsibly show that we do not need an external or non-partisan mentor for the development and implementation of the mentioned platform,“ the statement said.

The invitation followed several parties’ agreement to create a joint platform for the talks.
