Aleksandar Vulin, Serbia’s Interior Minister, said on Wednesday that a probe into the organised crime group allegedly led by Veljko Belivuk was progressing well and that no one linked to it would be protected.

Vulin told the pro-regime Pink TV the investigation would not stop.

Asked about the links the two suspects alleged they had with the police, he said, “some have already been in prison.”

“A lot more will be discovered, and there will not be protected,” Vulin reiterated.

He again denied any links he and President Aleksandar Vucic had to the clan, describing such allegations as “a dirty media war” against the authorities.

Belivuk’s group is suspected of the most heinous crimes, including first-degree murders, drug and arms trafficking, rape, kidnapping, and grinding people.

According to the transcripts of their statements published by some independent media, Belivuk and his suspected accomplice Marko Miljkovic said they knew Vucic and Vulin, had met them once and did some jobs under their orders.

Vucic also denied the allegations, saying that no one believed he and Vulin had anything to do with the suspected organised crime group.

Vulin said the charges against the group would be brought within the legal deadline, adding the police had a lot of evidence.
