The Australian Open starts on January 17 and lasts through January 30.
Months of speculation preceded the decision about whether Djokovic would be allowed to compete in Australia due to the anti-coronavirus measures in that country.
Initially, only vaccinated players were said to be allowed to perform. Still, in recent days it was announced that some competitors would be able to play in Melbourne without the vaccine, but with some medical exemptions granted by local authorities.
