The Serbian state TV (RTS) said on Tuesday that it was considering a law suit against a popular singer closely associated with President Aleksandar Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Singer Aca Lukas accused the RTS of irregularities in the vote for Serbia’s entry in the Eurovision song contest. The RTS responded saying that the SMS votes were counted automatically by software which did not allow interference.

The RTS said that it would sue Lukas (whose real name is Aleksandar Vuksanovic) over the allegations.

“The vote was regular and transparent,” a press release from the Comtrade System Integration company which set up the software to count the votes said.

The company said it was prepared to hand the votes to the authorities if requested to do so, adding that the same data is available from mobile phone operators.
