Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated, presenting the results of the first 100 days of the Government's work, that the country is strong and safe and that everyone is equal before the law.

She recalled that 17 members of Veljko Belivuk’s criminal group, who are suspected of „the most serious and heinous criminal acts“ were arrested recently.

Brnabic said that the state has shown determination in the fight against organized crime, which was announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and added that the issue of the fight against the mafia will still be at the top of the list of priorities.

The Prime Minister stated that in the first 100 days of the new government, they worked on implementing the recommendations of the Council of Europe’s anti-corruption body „GRECO,“ that the Action Plan for the implementation of the media strategy was adopted, and that a Working Group for Security and Protection of Journalists was formed.

Prime Minister Brnabic also stated that one of the biggest successes of the government is the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

Brnabic said that two new hospitals were opened in Belgrade and Krusevac with more than 1,500 beds for Covid patients.

„We are one of only two or three countries in the world that managed to build completely new hospitals in just four months, during such a crisis. And not one, but two,“ said Brnabic and pointing out that those hospitals were opened in December when “health care was at capacity“ noting that thanks to them, hundreds of lives were saved.

She pointed out that the vaccination of the population started three days earlier than in the EU.

„To date, we have vaccinated some 520,000 people, revaccinated about 21,000 and we are the only country in the world where citizens can choose vaccines,“ said Brnabic.
