Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Tuesday that more than half the adult population but less than a quarter of the younger population of Serbia had been inoculated against the coronavirus.

She told reporters that 53.4 percent of the adult population had been vaccinated and that just 21.4 percent of the population between the ages of 18 and 30 had received their shots. She said that the figures were “devastating”.

She said that the authorities were still considering COVID passes but did not specify when that might happen. “COVID passes are not a silver magic bullet to resolve the situation. COVID passes are just one way to motivate young people to get vaccinated, nothing more. Vaccination is the only answer to all of this,” she said.
