The Serbian Culture Ministry said on Thursday that the country pavilion was opened at the 23rd International Triennale in Milan.

Culture Minister Maja Gojkovic told the opening ceremony that the opening of the pavilion contributes to strengthening international cooperation, motivates development and promotes Serbian artists exhibiting alongside fellow artists from 40 countries. She said that Ivan Mangov’s Infinity of Structure combined modern art with motives from the Serbian medieval monastery Hopovo on Mt Fruska Gora.

The minister was quoted as saying that the exhibit fits in perfectly with the Triennale idea of finding innovative ways of thinking by combining various cultures and languages.
Mangov told the ceremony that the ornaments on medieval Serbian frescoes were portrayed in paintings, ceramics, digital arts and music to create a comprehensive experience.
