The Visoki Decani monastery in Kosovo said that it would open its doors to groups of up to five visitors as of Tuesday.

A statement on the monastery web site said that Visoki Decani and the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch in the town of Pec would be re-opened to the public after being closed since last June because of the coronavirus pandemic. Services in the monastery were only in the presence of the monastery brotherhood. Serbian Orthodox Church monasteries in Kosovo were closed to the public at the start of the pandemic under a recommendation by Raska-Prizren Bishop Teodosije.

Christian and Muslim temples and religious sites were allowed to re-open to small groups of the faithful at the end of May 2020, the KoSSev news portal said.
