Serbia’s top general met with the new KFOR commander to discuss the security situation in Kosovo, a press release said on Friday.

It said that Serbian Chief of Staff General Milan Mojsilovic and KFOR Commander Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia met in Belgrade.

The press release quoted Mojsilovic as saying that the unilateral steps taken by the authorities in Pristina did not help ease the situation on the ground and voicing concern that some KFOR contributing countries were helping the Kosovo government set up the Kosovo Security Forces.

Mojsilovic also expressed the hope that professional cooperation between the Serbian military and KFOR would continue.

The press release did not include any statement from Ristuccia.
