Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic chaired the first meeting of a coordination body to improve the position of Roma in Serbia.

A government press release said that Brnabic was named to head the Coordination Body with Human and Minority Rights Minister Gordana Comic as her deputy and a number of cabinet ministers sitting on the body along with officials of the Roma National Minority Council and the government social inclusion and poverty reduction team.

Branabic is quoted as saying that improving the position of Roma and their inclusion in society is hugely important and that a lot of time, effort and resources have been invested to achieve that goal. According to the Prime Minister, the issue is also important in terms of respect of human rights and European integration.
