Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic said on Thursday that the European Union’s lack of reaction to Kosovo politician Albin Kurti’s statements about a Greater Albania are not helping build trust.

The Foreign Minister was commenting a statement by Vetevendosje party leader Albin Kurti about a possible referendum to unite Kosovo with Albania. Kurti’s party won the recent early parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

Selakovic told European External Action Service (EEAS) Secretary General Stefano Sannino that there is a lack of trust in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, a ministry press release said. It quoted him as saying that official Belgrade supports EU special representative Miroslav Lajcak and is prepared to work with anyone who can help resolve open questions with Pristina.

Selakovic said that the Serbian authorities view Brussels as the central place for the dialogue.
