The Serbian Customs Authority said on Tuesday that its officers seized almost 100,000 roses and other flowers imported from the Netherlands.

A press release said that the flowers were seized at a customs warehouse because the importer declared 19,500 or just 20 percent of the roses, chrysanthemums and other flowers. The value of the declared flowers is just over 3,000 Euro, it said.

According to figures for 2020, Serbia imported about 11 million Euro worth of flowers while its exports were worth some 4 million Euro, mainly to European Union member states and Russia.
