Serbia’s ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), led by President Aleksandar Vucic, said their youth activists were attacked in a Belgrade Vozdovac district on Thursday.
According to the SNS press release, unknown people threw glass bottles at the female party’s members and threatened them with a knife.
It added that injuries were avoided only “thanks to the activists’ calmness.”
The party called on respective institutions to bring the perpetrators to justice and send a clear message “that violence and aggression in Serbia are not allowed.”
“We strongly condemn any violence, and the fact is that angry individuals daily target our party’s activists, SNS and President Aleksandar Vucic,” the press release added.
