The Serb List called for an urgent meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to discuss the re-registration of vehicles owned by Kosovo Serbs.

The deadline set by the Kosovo government to replace license plates issued by the Serbian authorities expires at the end of the month. Pristina has not agreed to extend the deadline despite calls to do so from the US and European Union.

The Belgrade-backed Kosovo Serb political party said that statements by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti “show clearly that there is no will in Pristina to find a solution and compromise but only a desire to cause crises and tensions, especially in the north of Kosovo”.

“The announcement of violent action against our people by Albin Kurti, especially in the north of Kosovo, is causing fear and uncertainty and we need to meet urgently to consider how to preserve the peace and security of the citizens and the vital interests of our people who do not agree with Pristina’s unilateral steps whose goal is the expulsion of everything Serb from this area,” the Serb List statement said.
