A Serbian Education Ministry team has decided to send all elementary and high school children back to classes as of Monday, November 29.
A statement from the Team Monitoring and Coordinating the Implementation of Measures of Prevention in Schools said that the model for schools is decided at weekly level in individual local communities. “According to data from the Public Health Service sent to the Batut Public Health Institute by the Education Ministry, 918 school children between the ages of 6 and 18 were sick in the week between November 19 and 23,” it added.
The statement said that 8 classes of 16 students or less (0.02 percent) were forced to change to online classes after at least three COVID cases were reported.
Schools in Serbia have been combining online and classes in schools since the start of the school year.
