Serbia Broadband (SBB) said on Friday that it is continuing to expand its GIGA network across the country with the aim of creating GIGA Serbia by the end of the year.
The press release said that Pozarevac and Kostolac were the latest GIGA cities in what the company says is the biggest and fastest new generation network in the region. It said that SBB clients in those two cities now have access to digital TV on up to three devices and the cable providers EON TV platform along with the fastest Internet in the country of up to 1 Gbps.
SBB said that the digitalization process will be completed by the end of 2022, the year that Serbia Broadband marked its 20th anniversary, in all 35 cities offering digitalized services at no added cost, faster Internet speed, high quality audio and video and even greater service stability along with other advanced features. EON packages now have faster Internet access by up to 50 percent as of June 1 in all GIGA cities.
“We are offering our users complete digital infrastructure, access to EON – the most popular TV platform in southeastern Europe – and the fastest Internet network in the country as confirmed by Ookla and we are not stopping there! SBB Internet in EON packages in GIGA cities is even faster and we are going to start building a 10 GIGA optic network by the end of the year,” SBB technical services sector chief Vladimir Radovic said.
SBB’s investment of 300 million Euro includes upgrades to Internet access speed in 21 towns and cities across Serbia and digitalization for 90 percent of its users, the press release said.
SBB is part of United Group along with N1.
