RZS: Less building permits issued in June 2022 than in June 2021

A total of 2,187 building permits were issued in Serbia in June 2022, which is a decrease of 9.7 percent when compared to June 2021, said the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS).

Out of the total number of permits issued in June 2022, 78.1 percent were for buildings, and 21.9 percent for civil engineering constructions.

When only buildings are concerned, 79.0 percent of permits were issued for residential buildings, 21.0 percent for non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (75.4percent).

According to the permits issued in June 2022 in the Republic of Serbia, the construction of 3,629 dwellings with average useful floor space of 71.9 m2 was recorded, the RZS said.

Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 8.9 percent will be houses, with average useful floor space of 142.6 m², and 90.0 percent of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average useful floor space of 63.8 m².

The greatest construction activity is expected in Belgrade, 26.5 percent of the anticipated value of new construction works.
