Nenad Popovic, Serbia's Minister of Innovation, said on Friday that 40,000 doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine arrived in Serbia - 20,000 of component 1 and the same amount of component 2.

He said the vaccines came in special containers at minus 20 C.

„These are only the first quantities out of 2,000,000 vaccines expected in Serbia in February and March,“ Popovic said.

He added „the interest for the Russian vaccine in the world was enormous, and Serbia tops Moscow’s priority list. “

Popovic said Serbia was a priority in producing the vaccine, adding „the process would continue soon. On February 11 we expect the arrival of Russian experts at the ‘Torlak’ Institute to, together with local experts assess the possibility of producing the vaccine in Serbia.“
