Radio TV Kosovo (RTK) reported that the authorities in Pristina are planning to buy Turkish armored vehicles for the Kosovo Security Forces.
The report said that Pristina is planning to buy 14 BMC Vuran 4×4 MRAP armored vehicles as part of the modernization of the forces.
According to Turkish media reports, Kosovo wants to have a military compatible with NATO. The modernization includes training, reforms and imports of military equipment with 5.2 million Euro in support from the US through the Foreign Military Sales program.
The RTK report said that Kosovo intends to go ahead with the formation of a regular military despite objections from Belgrade and added that it has the support of Washington and Berlin.
