The Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) on Tuesday named members of the management boards of Serbia’s two public broadcasters.

A press release said that the REM Council named six members to the board of the Radio TV Serbia (RTS) and five members of the board of the Radio TV Vojvodina (RTV). Both boards have a total of nine members.

Media reports recalled that the REM Council tried and failed to make the appointments on several occassions, lacking the necessary number of votes. Membership on those governing bodies of the state radio and TV stations are a point of dispute between the authorities and opposition.
