The Democratic Front staged protests across Montenegro against the forming of a minority government.
A new government is set to be formed by the coalition of parties in power following the passing of a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic which was initiated by deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic.
The Democratic Front said it had organized road block protests in 17 places across the country, included three road blocks in the capital Podgorica.
The Montenegrin state TV (RTCG) said that Democratic Front officials spread out to adress more than 11,000 people staging the protests. Democratic Front leader Andrija Mandic said that “operation blockade of Montenegro against treason was a success”.
Democratic Front officials said earlier that the road block protests were being staged to protect the will of the electorate expressed at last August’s elections which ousted President Milo Djukanovic’s Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
