Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani told Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias that Pristina’s relations with Athens would be expanded if Greece recognizes Kosovo.

The KoSSev news portal quoted her as saying that trade between Kosovo and Greece needs to expand along with cooperation in tourism and culture.

Dendias is in Pristina following a decision by official Athens to allow Pristina to upgrade the status of its trade office in Athens, a move which led Serbian officials to express concerns that Greece could recognize Kosovo. Dendias’ counterpart Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz is reported to have said that Kosovo’s independence is a fact which should be accepted and that Pristina will continue its dialogue with Greece and other partners on the issue. Dendias said after the meeting that Greece supports the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
