Serbia's Prime Minister Ana Brnabic warned that the state institutions would respond if environmental activists blocked the border crossings, announced after their meeting on Sunday evening in the central town of Gonji Milanovac, at the end of the protest there.

Brnabic told the pro-government Pink TV she „does not take this kind of arrogance seriously.“

„As for the last blockades, I see that they are very dissatisfied that the citizens do not appear at these protests. Amazingly, these people tell the citizens that they are irresponsible. The more time passes, the more I think this has nothing to do with the green agenda. These environmentalists did not make any demands. It is clear to everyone that these are political protests against (President) Aleksandar Vucic. The state will respond if they block the border crossings, but believe me, I do not take that kind of arrogance seriously, „she said.

She reiterated that Serbia’s Government was very close to annulling all permits given to Rio Tinto, adding the current government „did not even bring Rio Tinto“.

Brnabic said the annulment of permits would not stop the protests because the participants aimed to change the Government.
