Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that murder of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was planned in January this year but she did not unveil any details or why the prosecution did not investigate this case.

Speaking to Pink TV, Brnabic also said that the allegations about wiretapping Vucic and the Jovanjica affair are considered coup attempts.

“It was planned for a long time and to the details. There were parallel structures in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and campaigns were led in tycoon media, which was then carried by media in the region in order to dehumanise Vucic and label him and his family as a criminal clan,” said the PM.

“A lot was happening in the ministry of Internal Affairs. It was monstrous how well connected that network was,” she added.

According to Brnabic, the plan for Vucic’s assassination dates back to January 27 and unveiling of the monument to Stefan Nemanja in Belgrade. However, she did not disclose any detail about this matter or why the prosecution has not opened a case.

Brnabic said that competent agencies are dealing with these cases and that no one will be protected here regardless of name, position or political affiliation.

“I know that the Serbian Progressive Party is the only political party in Serbia that said everyone will be treated equally and that there are no protected ones,” said Brnabic referring to her own party led by Vucic.

According to her, Vucic’s son is constantly being attacked and criminalised by “tycoon media,” and that he was a target because no one could criticise Vucic for any political or economic matter.
