Expressing satisfaction that the number of investors from Japan in Serbia is growing, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic hosted Tuesday in Tokyo a dinner party for Japanese businessmen whose companies operate in Serbia, said a press release issued by the Serbian Government.

Brnabic, who attended Tuesday the state funeral ceremony for former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo, wanted to hear from Japanese businessmen what else Serbia can do to improve their business.

“We are happy that the number of Japanese investors in Serbia is increasing, especially in the last three years. Japanese investors are one of the most conservative and once they come to a country, others follow them,” the press release quoted Brnabic as saying.

The Serbian Prime Minister said that Shinzo Abe was a great friend of Serbia and that in 2018 he visited Serbia with a business delegation.

Brnabic toasted the friendship between Serbia and Japan, thanking the businessmen for believing in Serbia.

The dinner was attended by Toyo Tire Corporation President Takashi Shimizu, Yazaki Corporation President Riku Yazaki, Japan Tobacco Chairman Mutsuo Iwai, Mint Japan President Tomoyuki Yamada, Minth Group’s Sophie Chin, Division Chief Executive Officer of Automotive at Toyota Tsusho Corporation Shigeru Harada, Rikiya Iwase, the General Manager of the Global Sales Division of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Corporation Kiyotaka Kikuchi, and a vice president of NIDEC Group, Junichiro Nakayama, said the press release.
