Croatia is ready to continue assisting North Macedonia in its reform process and in meeting the conditions for membership in the European Union (EU), Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic told his North Macedonian counterpart Dimitar Kovacevski in Prague at a meeting held during the first European Political Community summit.

The two prime ministers discussed the challenges surrounding the world energy crisis caused by the military aggression against Ukraine, North Macedonia’s European path and the importance of the launching of accession negotiations, said the Government of North Macedonia.

Kovacevski said he was satisfied with the good economic relations between Croatia and North Macedonia, adding that Croatia is his country’s “sincere partner, a traditional supporter of our aspirations for integration into the European family“.

Kovacevski and Plenkovic agreed that the global energy crisis can be overcome only by working together and intensifying regional cooperation, said the Government press release.
