The Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev and BiH Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic concluded Tuesday that the two countries share common interests and values such as membership in the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) and the European Union (EU), the government in Skopje announced.

According to the government statement, Zaev stressed that North Macedonia is ready to share with BiH the experience of the accession process to full membership in NATO.

Zaev pointed out that the visit of the Bosniak member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency to North Macedonia is the result of the continuity of extremely positive and traditionally close relations between the two countries.

He noted that it is of special importance that this visit took place on the International Day of Bosniaks, informing Dzaferovic that he came to the meeting with an insight into the final phase of the construction of the “Flower of Srebrenica” bridge.

“Zaev and Dzaferovic agreed at the meeting that North Macedonia and BiH have very close ties from the past and that they have common commitments for a common future,” the statement said.

Prior to the meeting with Zaev, BiH Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic, who is on a one-day working visit to Skopje, also met with North Macedonian President Steve Pendarovski.
