The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) representatives and the IMF mission started a new round of official talks at the online plenary meeting on Monday, discussing monetary policy and the financial system.

The talks are part of consultations under Article IV of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement and will last until 23 April.

They include a comprehensive analysis of the macroeconomic framework for policy implementation and the outlook for further growth and the analysis of the adequacy of economic policy, external stability, and sustainability of the country’s external debt.

Regular consultations under Article IV of the Articles of Agreement with all member countries take place as part of the IMF’s surveillance function, and prior consultations with Serbia were held in mid-2019.
