In this year's US Department of State Fiscal Transparency Report Serbia is on the list of countries whose transparency in public finances management is rated positively, which means that it is recognized as a country whose citizens know how public money is spent, said the Serbian Finance Ministry.

Since 2008 the US Department of State has been assessing the fiscal transparency of countries across the world. The parameters used to assess efficiency in public availability of information on a country’s financial matters are key budget documents that are publicly available, substantially complete, and generally reliable, releasing of information on public debt, transparency of processes for awarding government contracts and licenses for natural resource extraction, said a Ministry press release.

Serbia’s Finance Minister Sinisa Mali assessed that the US State Department Report is a result of all the reforms implemented so far in public finances.
