German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Belgrade on September 13, a press release on the Chancellor’s web site said on Wednesday.
According to the press release, Merkel will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to discuss political and economic cooperation and European integration. She will also meet with civil society organizations from the six Western Balkan countries in Belgrade.
It said that Merkel will go to Tirana to meet Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on September 14 and will hold bilateral talks with the heads of government of Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
There was no confirmation of the visit on the Serbian President’s web site but Vucic told a news conference that the visit is of great interest for Serbia. He said that Merkel will spend most of her visit to the region in Serbia.
