Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that he is always prepared to travel to Brussels for a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

In an interview with Voice of America Kurti said that Vucic keeps putting off the meeting because he does not want to distance himself from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I am always prepared to travel to Brussels, for the next meeting, it was planned for that meeting to take place on July 19, but it was not held because official Belgrade refused it and asked for it to be postponed for over a month. It has been almost four months since they had the elections, and they are still unjustifiably postponing it,” said Kurti, KoSSev reported.

Head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo Petar Petkovic said Kurti’s allegations that Belgrade is the one allegedly sabotaging the dialogue was a notorious lie.

“The reality is that Belgrade is firmly and unequivocally committed to dialogue and to the normalization of relations with Pristina, which we want to achieve at the negotiating table. Belgrade has always responded to every invitation to a dialogue and talks on the normalization of relations, and that is the only truth,” Petkovic said.

“They don’t want to distance themselves from the despotic President Putin. They do not want to impose sanctions on Moscow, that is why they are not constituting the parliament or forming the government. Kosovo has always been constructive and dedicated, with every one of its officials. (US Secretary of State Antony) Blinken has asked us to keep being that way. Belgrade is working against friendly agreements,” said the Kosovo Prime Minister.
