Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti told CNN on Tuesday that a hybrid war is underway in the region.

“We have a hybrid war in the Western Balkans because there is a Russian humanitarian center in Nis, 100 miles from Pristina. We have seen that hybrid war is not substitution for war it is just the preparatory phase,” Kurti said.

He added that the authorities in Pristina are are worried and vigilant but not afraid. According to the Kosovo Prime Minister, Pristina increased its defense budget and raised the capacities of its police and intelligence services in cooperation with NATO.

Kurti said that both the people of Kosovo and NATO are being defended in Kosovo because the Alliance is very much integrated into its security architecture.
