Albin Kurti, Kosovo's former prime minister and the winner at the latest elections with his Self-determination movement, reiterated on Monday his view about the dialogue with Belgrade being not a main priority of the next government he might head again.

After meeting the European Union special envoy for Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on the normalisation of relations Miroslav Lajčák in Pristina, Kurti told T7 TV that the next government priorities included justice, new jobs and the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

The dialogue with Belgrade does not top the future cabinet’s agenda.

Kurti did not deny the talks’ importance but said there was no hurry and that the next round should be well prepared and honest.

„No date is set; we have to form a government. The new cabinet will have a foreign minister for all organisational activities. I’m not against the dialogue, but I’m for a constructive dialogue,“ Kurti told the Koha daily as carried by the KoSSev website.

„He (Lajčák) generally informed me about the dialogue process. I said again that we won the election on the programme focused on justice, employment; we’re facing the coronavirus epidemic and that we are not against the dialogue. Still, it should be well prepared,“ Kurti reiterated to T7.
