The Kosovo police launched raids in the town of Urosevac (Ferizaj in Albanian) on Thursday, seizing security cameras and videos allegedly used to monitor the local population.

Prosecutor Rasim Maloku confirmed the raids at four locations and the seizure of security cameras, claiming that “Serbian illegal structures” had been using them to monitor the population.

“The raids are not directly linked to the illegal construction on Mt Brezovica but it does include some of the people arrested in that case since one of them, former Mayor Bratislav Nikolic is also the coordinator of the illegal structures which controlled the security cameras monitoring the public and Republic of Kosovo institutions. The information was then passed on to security structures in Serbia,” Maloku told the Kallxo portal.

The prosecutor said that there is evidence that a conspiracy to “commit anti-constitutional activities linked to espionage” was underway.
