Kosovo PM: Kosovo-Serbia final agreement by March next year

N1

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti told the Kosovo Parliament that the European Union (EU) and US “plan is for the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia to be reached by March next year.”

He said the EU and US “want a new dynamic” and that this involves “an EU proposal, but there is no agreement without us.”

Albin Kurti said that the 33 agreements signed so far between Serbia and Kosovo should be reviewed.

“There is a proposal, as a good basis for discussion, and of course the past Brussels agreements are also mentioned, but they are also mentioned as a consideration in the August 18 proposal, which I presented as a general framework for the agreement. I do not want to deny that 33 agreements were signed, but I was not the one who signed them, we have to review them, and the burden of proof is on those who want those agreements, not on us,” said Kurti.

The Kosovo Prime Minister reiterated that the Community of Serb Municipalities is no solution.

Commenting on the Serbs in north Kosovo who have withdrawn from Kosovo’s institutions, Prime Minister Kurti said that political resignations cannot be followed by political invitations, and that those who want jobs should apply form them in a professional manner.
