Kosovo's Independent Media Commission decided to temporarily remove all media originating from Russia from the platform to prevent "propaganda, hate speech and false news, and thus protect public safety in Kosovo," the Kossev website reported on Monday.

Three Russian-language channels available through Serbia’s state MTS provider in northern Kosovo: Russia Today, Tudej, Russia 24 and Planet RTR, can no longer be seen.

MTS is registered as a subsidiary of the stateTelekom Srbija and existed under the 2015 Brussels Telecommunications Agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.

Russian media were watched in mostly Serb-dominated communities.

MTS has not replied to Kossev's query about the Pristina decision.
