The final episode of the historic series Time of Evil had record high ratings on Wednesday night, ranking the NOVA S station second in Serbia.

TV Beat showed that the series finale had a 12.55% share with only the pro-regime TV Pink scoring higher with a rating of 12.73%. All other TV stations with national coverage had lower ratings.

The series had high ratings from the first to the last episode. Ratings results show that Time of Evil is one of the most popular local series aired on NOVA S.

The 15 part series is based on a trilogy written by the late Serbian writer and politician Dobrica Cosic. He was close to the late Yugoslav leader Tito but turned into a nationalist dissident late and was called father of the nation because of his influence on Serbian politics in the 1990s. The series was produced by United Media. Comments on social media said that it is one of the best domestic series in general and has a lasting quality which strikes a chord in everyone as well as being topical.

Series author and actor Goran Susljik thanked everyone involved in the production and the audience. “I am proud of what we managed to say and how we said it and I am sad that the Time of Evil is not passing,” he said and added that another of Cosic’s works (Time of Death) would be produced.

United Media CEO Aleksandar Subotic said that the series is top quality TV content which will become part of lasting artistic and production heritage. “We are proud to have produced this huge TV project whose value was recognized right away by the audience. We are continuing down the same path and are exited about the 30 episodes of Time of Death which will be aired next year,” she said.

The series is available in the NOVA S VOD catalogue on the EON platform.
