The anti-vaxer lobbing is taking a high toll in Serbia, with five non-immunised young people dying in five days in the largest COVID hospital in Serbia, in Belgrade's Batajnica suburb.

„The oldest was 26, and none was vaccinated nor had any comorbidity,“ the hospital director Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic told the state Tanjug news agency.

She said the situation in the hospital was extremely difficult and worrying, adding that there were up to 20 times more patients compared to early summer.

„In June and July, we had some 75 patients; now there are ten, twenty times more of them. They have grave clinical status after spending days at home with high fever without contacting doctors,“ Adzic Vukicevic said.

She added they were „people who a priori refuse vaccination and don’t accept it as the only salvation and cure.“
