Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Wednesday that the draft law on a capital market will create conditions for Serbia to link with Euroclear.
Speaking in parliament, Mali said that Serbian companies need a strong capital market with strong institutions which guarantee investments. They also need even more instruments to finance their growth and development so that they don’t have to depend on bank loans, he said. The minister said the draft law will strengthen those institutions which regulate the capital market, primarily the bonds commission, and create conditions for Serbia to link with Euroclear.
Mali said that the draft law also provides a wider range of instruments of sources of financing such as crypto-currencies. According to the minister, one of the most important things is that the law is in line with the standards demanded by investors as well as European Union norms and was agreed with the International Monetary Fund.
