A 4.5 degree earthquake hit the city of Bitola in North Macedonia on Tuesday afternoon, one more in a series of tremors that have been shaking the area since Sunday night.

The Seizmological Observatory in Skoplje said that the quake was registered at 4.14 pm 120 kilometers south of the North Macedonian capital in the border area of neighboring Greece.

“The earthquake measured 4.5 degrees on the Richter scale and was felt most in the city of Bitola and the surrounding area,” the Seizmological Observatory said.

The first of the series of quakes that hit the area over the past two days measured 5.5 degrees.
