Doctors in Pristina removed a mobile phone from a man’s stomach, four days after he swallowed it.

The Serbian state TV (RTS) said that doctors at the Gastroenterology Clinic removed the phone in parts after examining the patient.

Dr Skender Teljaku said that the man who swallowed the phone underwent a gastroscopic exam and added that the doctors saw that the phone was in three parts. He said they removed the front cover of the phone first and the battery last. “The battery was the most dangerous part because it could have exploded in his intestines and released chemicals, the doctor told reporters.

The procedure took two hours to complete, the doctor said and added that no incisions were necessary.
