If someone plans to bring some non-paper, then my message to them is not to waste their time, said the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Ivica Dacic Saturday, speaking for Pink TV, adding that the position of the President of Serbia is clear - we want a compromise and agreement, but we will not accept any blackmail.
„We think it’s unnecessary for us to repeat the same views for who knows how many times. We have always been in favour of the dialogue, we have never been in favour of signing agreements that we would not implement, like Pristina,“ said Dacic commenting a possible arrival of an informal document from the USA and the EU with a request for the recognition of Kosovo, which in the meantime has been denied by Brussels.
EU spokesperson Peter Stano said on Thursday that EU special envoy Miroslav Lajcak does not bring any ultimatum to Serbia and that there is no non-paper on the recognition of Kosovo.
„Rest assured that this kind of reporting is complete nonsense,“ Stano said.
Diplomatic sources in Brussels were also surprised by the media coverage in Serbia about the non-paper and stated that it was „gossip and imaginary constructs for which some media are already known.“
