Over the last 24 hours, one patient died from COVID-19-related complications and out of 5,203 tested, 217 people were infected with the coronavirus, Serbia's Health Ministry said on Saturday.

To date, COVID-19 claimed a total of 16,078 lives with a mortality rate of 0.80 percent.

On Saturday, 190 patients were hospitalised, 11 of whom were on ventilators.

Since the epidemic outbreak in March 2020, 9,693,379 people have been tested, and 2,016,793 samples have returned positive for the new virus.
