Brnabic, Pinter: Serbia-Hungary relations at highest point in recent history

At a meeting with Hungarian Ambassador to Serbia Attila Pinter Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that relations between the two countries have reached the highest point of development in recent history thanks to, above all, mutual understanding, trust and commitment to strengthening the partnership.

Brnabic thanked Ambassador Pinter, who is ending his term of office, for his personal efforts in developing bilateral relations and noted that the two countries established a strategic partnership last year, and that trade between the two countries last year reached a record high, a Government press release said.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Ambassador for Hungary’s strong and continued support for Serbia, at the highest political level, in the European integration process and for insisting on the need for European Union’s (EU) enlargement.

Brnabic said Serbia greatly appreciates Hungary’s support and commitment to the preservation of peace and stability in Kosovo, especially in the light of the July 31 events.

Ambassador Pinter said Hungary sees Serbia as its most important economic partner in the Western Balkans, adding that the Hungarian government strives to support investments in Serbia.

The two officials also discussed joint projects and stressed the importance of the two governments’ joint sittings the result of which is a significant improvement of economic relations, signed agreements and memoranda and the realization of joint projects.
